Ford IDS
Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) is Ford’s OEM diagnostic and service software for supported Ford and Lincoln vehicles. When used with a compatible Ford Vehicle Communication Module, IDS provides dealership-level access to vehicle electronic systems for diagnostics, testing, configuration, and supported programming operations.
IDS allows technicians to retrieve and clear diagnostic trouble codes, perform Key-On-Engine-Off and Key-On-Engine-Running self-tests, monitor live data through the Data Logger, perform network tests, and command supported vehicle components using output-state controls.
The software also includes a wide range of manufacturer-specific service functions, including programmable parameter changes, module installation and reprogramming, PATS and key programming functions, remote keyless-entry procedures, ABS brake bleeding, EVAP testing, power-balance testing, relative compression testing, transmission testing, EGR testing, and other supported body, chassis, electrical, and powertrain procedures.
Ford IDS also supports Programmable Module Installation (PMI) and module reprogramming on applicable vehicles.
